The city will need to look at every possible means to cope with the social housing crisis in London.
City politicians, meeting as the strategic priorities and policy committee Monday, heard the London and Middlesex Community Housing (LMCH) will need $456 million to repair and maintain social housing stock in the city, of which $60 million is needed immediately for urgent needs such as furnace and elevator repairs.
It also heard the Housing Development Corp. will need $8.2 million by 2023, a big spike from the $2.2 million it now gets.
